Gainesville's thriving bio-science and technology industries are not showing signs of slowing their pace. Inc. Magazine has named local supplements and vitamins company Reserveage Organics as one of the 500 fastest-growing companies. The company was ranked 363 out of the top 500, 26 out of the top 100 health companies, and 26 out of the top 100 Florida companies.
Reserveage Organics experienced a growth of 1,213 percent in the past three years, earning $4.8 million in revenue in 2009 and $63.3 million in 2012. A part of Gainesville's fast-growing bio-science scene, the company has grown to 72 employees, adding 63 of those jobs between the aforementioned period of revenue growth.
Beginning with just four products in 2009, Reserveage Organics has accredited its growth to its mission of being the first to market with the most effective clinically researched ingredients. The company began by utilizing Reservatrol, a natural phenol produced in several plants that has been praised globally for its uses in aiding or slowing down the aging process. Several of Reserveage Organics' products have enjoyed national media attention across the U.S.
Two companies, ResVitale and RE-BODY have been founded as children of Reserveage Organics' founder and CEO Naomi Whittel, including two sub-brands CocoaWell and Reserveage Advanced Solutions. Reserveage Organics has launched over 100 bio-science products and has won over 20 industry awards and recognitions.
A Gainesville resident, Whittel has earned a myriad of awards since breaking out in the bio-science scene. She won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 Award in Florida earlier this year. In 2012, the company won the Silver Stevie Award for Fastest Growing Company with more than 10 employees. Whittel, winner of a 2012 Enterprising Women in Business Award, was named the Gold Stevie Award Winner as Female Executive of the Year of a consumer products company with 11 – 2,500 employees and the Silver Stevie Award Winner as Female Entrepreneur of the Year. Her company also won Nutrition Business Journal’s 2012 Business Achievement Award in the Mid-Size Company Growth Category.
In choosing the Inc. 500 fastest growing companies, the organization looked at business revenue from 2009 through 2012 and stipulated that the company had to be created and generating revenue by April 2009. Considered companies also must have earned a minimum of $100,000 of revenue in 2009 and $2 million in 2012.
