16, July 2013

Area Development magazine has awarded Florida the Silver Shovel award, highlighting the state's ability to create a significant amount of jobs and economic impact. The award was offered through the magazine's economic development organization, Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI).

“This award highlights the work we have done to make Florida’s business climate the best in the nation. We have worked to remove burdensome regulations, eliminated tax burdens, and have paid down state debt. As a result, we’re creating thousands of private-sector jobs for Florida families every month, and our efforts are being recognized by industry-leading publications like Area Development magazine.”

- Florida Governor Rick Scott

Florida has substantial economic development projects all over the state, from the northwest panhandle all the way down to the bottom of South Florida. Area Development magazine stated Florida was an easy choice with its committment to economic development and job creation.
